The Beach Houses
Ashwem, North Goa
Five restored Portuguese houses on Ashwem sand.
The place
Nineteenth-century Portuguese dwellings brought back and set down on one of the better beaches in North Goa, each sleeping between two and seven. The idea is to be in the landscape rather than looking at it — open to the sea, low on partitions, and very little between you and the sand.
What is there
- Five houses, each for two to seven
- Directly on Ashwem beach
- Restored nineteenth-century buildings
- Staffed
- Good for families and small groups
- Quiet end of the north coast
Getting there
